The maximum passenger capacity allowed for all rental boats is (5) five persons. Due to rapidly changing weather conditions boats will not be used for taking numerous loads of passengers to and from the clam beds. Boats will be allowed (2) two trips to taking passengers out and back for clamming or picnicking. Any renter found in non-compliance with these rules will face immediate forfeiture of the vessel. These rules are for you and your passengers' safety. Please use good boating judgment whenever operating these vessels.

All boat or boat and motor reservations will require a full deposit for every day of the week with low tides or without low tides. Deposit will not be refunded for rentals that are not picked up at the time requested by renter. We are also now requiring a $300.00 (credit card accepted) rental deposit at the time you pick-up rentals. The equipment must be checked out by renter, with our assistance, to establish that everything is in good working order prior to use. The rental equipment must be returned in the same condition in order for the deposit to be returned to customer.   

 Tractor launch expires' at 4:45 PM. we advise reservations for boat and motor rentals. Boat and motor rentals hold a maximum of five persons and must be returned by 4:45 PM. Some restrictions apply to boat and motor rentals.  

  BOATHOUSE AND OUTBOARD SHOP

The Boathouse sells bait, tackle, weights, a full line of marine parts and accessories, gas, oil, ice, wood, soft drinks, snacks and candy. Pier fishing is available for perch and smelt and crabbing during daylight hours only. The wharf is closed at dusk. We have a staff of 4 OMC certified mechanics to work on Evinrude & Johnson motors, plus a certified welder on staff for fabrication of aluminum, steel or iron.

Gas and diesel are for sale at the pier. You'll also find a full service OMC repair shop with four mechanics as well as an onsite certified welder - fabricator. The repair shop carries an extensive line of OMC engine parts and NAPA auto parts.


In the boathouse, you'll find a good supply of bait and tackle as well as snacks, drinks and ice to finish up your picnic lunch. Crab nets and clam digging supplies are sold as well as California fishing licenses. Propane and firewood are sold for RV-ers and campers.


The campground is bordered by acres of sand dunes and a long sandy beach. If you're a hiker, you'll find lots of places to wander and bird watching is phenomenal in the winter when the birds take refuge along the shores of Tomales Bay. There are hundreds of seals sunning themselves on the sand bars in the bay  as well the tule elk grazing on Tomales Point.

CAMPING

Camp along the protective sand dunes and grassy meadows in popular group settings. No individual sites are available. The campground is closed during wet periods of the year, so please call 707-878-2443 for conditions.

 Camping Rules

 Camping is provided in grassy meadow areas amongst the sand dunes. While this has proven to be a popular option for group camping, the roping off of big areas has become an issue. In 2005, areas may be roped off with the permission by one of the Landing managers and the space paid for on those nights. (Alternatively: With each space secured, payment will be required.) Check at the gate before you register to clarify these rules.

1) Online reservations available by using the link above. This does not reserve a site, only entry. Please arrive as early as possible for the best location.

2) The campground is closed during wet periods of the year so call ahead for conditions (707) 878- 2443.

3) Digging in the sand dunes is forbidden! Sand caves and tunnels are unstable and will collapse.

4) Possession of alcohol by minors is forbidden! Persons under 21 years of age are subject to vehicle inspection for alcohol prior to entry.

5) Thefts do occur. Safeguard valuables, ice chests, etc.

6) Vehicles are not allowed on the sand dunes or on the beach.

7) Motorcycles are not allowed.

8) Only electric scooters may be used, in daylight hours and not to be driven by those under sixteen.

9) Golf carts may only be used during daylight hours and are not to be driven by those under sixteen.

10) Minors are required to be back in camp by dark.

11) Keep your camp clean. A dirty camp or burning of bottles in ones campfire will result in immediate expulsion.

12) Possession of fireworks is against the law. Anyone using or found with fireworks will be required to leave.

13) Our posted speed limit is 10 -15 MPH for the safety of our patrons.

14) Marin County law requires all dogs to be leashed.

 Groceries can be purchased at the Dillon Beach Resort store, one mile north of the Landing, as well as beer and cigarettes. The Patio Cafe is open for dining on Friday, Saturday and Sundays.
